Chapter Thirty-Five: The Festival

It took the Mai, Abdou, Hayah, and their whole party three full days on horseback to reach Shani. It was a very large town, almost as large as Dikwa. In fact, it was the second largest town in Kanem-Borno Empire. The town was made up of mostly the Dera tribe, indigenous to Kanem-Borno, and almost as numerous as the Kanuri.
