Hayah was unhappy. Even the visit to see his beloved Fantah the previous day did nothing to lift his spirit. He had been avoiding the Lamdo, who was upset with him over the recent incident. Not only had he failed him woefully, he also lost many of soldiers in the process, including two of his lieutenants-Umaru and Bawuro. The kingdom was at that moment very vulnerable to attack and in dire need of military fortifications.
